Donna Kelner-Biloski

Donna Kelner-Biloski is a local pianist and piano teacher. Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Donna began her music journey at the age of 10 studying through Conservatory Canada with Aury Murray and then Heidi Strbavy. At 18, Donna opened up her studio Donna’s Music Academy where she began teaching private piano and theory lessons to students of all ages.

After attending Lakehead University where she holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Music, Donna branched out and began teaching piano at Kindermusik of Thunder Bay where she taught private and group piano classes. At that time, Donna also became a member of ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teacher’s Association) and took on a position as the pianist at the Redeemer Lutheran Church where she continues to play Sunday services. While at Redeemer, Donna, alongside another member of the church put together a children’s choir which performed throughout services.

Donna has performed locally throughout the years as well. She has accompanied student musicians at festivals, recitals and Conservatory examinations. Along side flautist, Kimberly Lingen-Hall, they formed the duo Dolce and performed at many weddings and numerous other social gatherings. They also performed a professional recital entitled Irish Inspirations with guest vocalist, Thunder Bay’s own Arley Cox.

In 2010, Donna branched out her studio by taking her love of teaching music into two rural schools where she provides private piano lessons throughout the school day.

Donna also collaborated with another local musician, Eldon Kangas. Together they recorded and released a Christmas CD entitled Welcome Christmas and has worked with vocalist Tammy Wilson.

One of her favourite quotes has always been, “Music can change the world.” – Beethoven
